Evacuation drill urged for South Amboy YMCA senior center
SOUTH AMBOY — Recent dramatic displays by Mother Nature have one resident concerned about the new senior center in the YMCA building on John T. O’Leary Boulevard. Joan Carew, Charmello Drive, addressed the City Council during a September meeting regarding her concern about the location of and evacuation plan from the Dr. Charles W. Hoffman Senior Resource Center, given the recent earthquake and hurricane. She said she regularly takes her 93-year-old mother-in-law to bingo at the center.
